Getting Started
What is PinLayout?
PinLayout is an AI-powered window manager for macOS and Windows. It reads what is on your screen and arranges your windows into a clean, productive layout instantly, so you never have to drag and resize by hand.
Which platforms and versions are supported?
PinLayout runs natively on macOS (both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs) and on Windows 10 and 11.
How do I install PinLayout?
Download the installer from our site and open it. On macOS you will be asked to grant Accessibility permission so PinLayout can move your windows; on Windows just run the installer and you are ready to go.
Why does PinLayout need Accessibility permission on macOS?
macOS only lets an app move or resize other windows after you grant Accessibility access in System Settings, under Privacy and Security. PinLayout uses it solely to arrange your windows, nothing else.
How does AI Smart Setup work?
Open Smart Setup and choose Suggest with AI. PinLayout looks at the apps you have open and proposes a layout tailored to what you are working on, which you can apply with a single click.
Does PinLayout support multiple monitors?
Yes. PinLayout detects every connected display and arranges your windows across all of them, including monitors with different sizes and resolutions.
Can I save layouts and restore my windows?
Yes. Save the arrangements you use most and bring back a full set of windows in one action whenever you start a work session.
Can I control PinLayout with the keyboard?
Yes. You can trigger layouts and snap windows using keyboard shortcuts, so you can arrange your screen without reaching for the mouse.
Do I have to set up zones manually?
No. AI Smart Setup reads your monitors and open apps and proposes an optimal layout in one click — and you can always draw your own custom zones on top.
What happens to my windows after a restart or macOS update?
Session restore puts everything back exactly where it was — every window, in its exact zone — even after an update reshuffles your desktop.
Does it run natively on both Mac and Windows?
Yes. PinLayout is native on both — Swift on macOS and a native build on Windows — so it stays fast and feels at home on either platform.
Can layouts switch automatically?
Absolutely. Rules can trigger layouts by app, by time, or the instant you dock or undock — save any arrangement as a workspace and PinLayout applies it for you.
Plans, Trial & Billing
Is there a free version?
There is no free tier, but every new user gets a free 7-day trial with full access to every feature. You do not need a card to start.
What happens when my trial ends?
When your 7 days are up, PinLayout asks you to choose a plan. Upgrade any time and your saved layouts stay exactly as you left them.
How much does PinLayout cost?
Pro is $29.50 per year for individuals. Team is $4.50 per user, per month, for organizations that want central billing.
What is the difference between Pro and Team?
Pro is a personal annual license for one person. Team adds per-seat billing and central management, which is ideal for companies rolling PinLayout out across a group.
Does one license work on both Mac and Windows?
Yes. Your PinLayout account works across macOS and Windows, so you can move between your computers on the same subscription.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
You can cancel any time from your account. If PinLayout is not the right fit, email us at hello@pinlayout.app within 7 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through Stripe.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. PinLayout arranges your windows locally on your device. It does not read your documents, your keystrokes, or your screen contents. AI Smart Setup uses only the names of your open apps to build a suggestion.
