HomeSecurity

Security you can actually check.

PinLayout is built to do its job on your device and send as little as possible anywhere else. Here is exactly how.

How we protect you

Six things that keep your desk private.

On-device by design

Zones, layouts, snapshots and window positions are stored and applied on your computer. PinLayout does not read window contents, documents or keystrokes.

Signed licences

Your licence is a signed token that the app verifies on your device. That is why PinLayout keeps working offline for up to 14 days between checks.

Encrypted in transit

Sign-in, licence checks and AI suggestion requests travel over encrypted connections.

Payments by Stripe

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

Minimal permissions

On macOS, PinLayout needs Accessibility to move windows. Full Disk Access is optional, only to read Chrome profile names.

Signed and notarised

The Mac app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple before every release.

What leaves your device

Only what is needed, and only when needed.

Sent to us

  • Your email address and licence, to run your trial or plan
  • A hashed device identifier and basic install details (hardware model, OS and app version), to enforce the device limit and help with support
  • Your monitor layout and open app names, only when you click Suggest with AI

Never collected

  • Window contents, documents or screenshots
  • Keystrokes
  • Your device’s personal name or precise location
  • Data for training AI models
